Aizawl, Capital city of Mizoram state witnessed first edition of the Indian Film Festival on 23rd January 2018, inaugurated by Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla.
The 3 Day Film Festival (23rd Jan-25th Jan 2018) commenced with a grand ceremony at the Mizoram’s largest auditorium Vanapa Hall on 23rd January with the opening Bollywood film – Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3, produced by award winning filmmaker and CEO (Wave Cinemas) – Rahul Mittra.

First of its kind gala event in Mizoram was jointly organised by the Mizoram Government & Innovations India as an initiative to promote Mizoram as a preferred destination for both leisure & business. The event marked the presence of Indian Filmmakers led by award winning filmmaker and CEO Wave Cinemas, Rahul Mittra accompanied by Savdhaan India host Sushant Singh. Apart from Rahul Mittra, National Award winning film makers like Umesh Shukla & Mikhil Musale, Producer Shahnaab Alam, Popular Assamese Actress Zerifa Wahid and the talented Italian Film Maker Katerina Tarbo Ignatenko also attended the festival.
