Rahul Mittra, award-winning film producer born in 1970 started his professional journey in 1994 as Sub-Editor and Reporter with Times of India, leading English Newspaper. Political Science Hons. from Hindu College (Delhi University) with Masters in International Relations from JNU, Mr. Mittra in his first innings created a niche for himself in the field of Media, PR and Branding and headed as Founder and CEO India’s leading Branding Agency – BrandSmith. His hard-work, passion and dedication not just made his journey remarkable but also took him to the career path where the Indian cinemas was going to get a turning point when 2011 marked out the release of his first Bollywood movie venture, Saheb Biwi aur Gangster, starring Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill and Randeep Hooda. The film was directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by Rahul Mittra.
Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster (2011) was appreciated and acclaimed by known Bollywood critics Taran Adarsh (Bollywood Hungama), Nikhat Kazmi (Times of India), Aniruddha Guha (DNA), Ayaz Shaikh (Rediff Movies) and audience loved it for powerful performances, gripping plot and strong dialogues. The success of Saheb Biwi aur Gangster still reminds me of the popular quote which fits best to the remarkable producer, “work hard in silence and let success make the noise”. Soon after the success, the second instalment of the movie was announced which was released in 2013 as “Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns” with same duo producer-director combination (Tigmanshu Dhulia and Rahul Mittra) but the star cast had additions with Irrfan Khan taking up the role of gangster replacing Randeep Hooda. The film producer during his branding and business advisory times had a popular quote by Shakespeare in Othello, “Only thing immortal about you is your reputation” which he adopted as the tag line for his venture BrandSmith and he has proved this in his professional career that the respectable reputation he earned by his professional expertise and experience is taking him to new heights of success milestones and in 2015 he was appointed as CEO of Wave Cinemas to streamline the company’s movie business and film distribution apart from green lighting some big film projects.

For me education is a process that ends with life and am constantly learning as I believe in Chanakaya, when he says it’s knowledge alone that can surpass both beauty and youth. I hope I continue travelling on my path of seeking knowledge.
